GOING TO HELL ARTICLE OF THE DAY Introduction The Going to Hell Article of the Day doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with going to Hell; I just like to remind people that Hell is an option. There will not always be an article of the day, but whenever there is it will be posted here. Normally the articles are chosen because I believe that those to whom I am speaking agree with the writer, and I disagree. I always seek to be consistent with the Orthodox worldview. If anything I say is inconsistent with said worldview please disregard it.

May 1, 2007 In an article entitled, Study: Abstinence programs ineffective, the Daily Collegian reported: Students who participated in abstinence-only sexual education programs were just as likely to have sex later as those who did not, according to a federally mandated study.
One reason why abstinence programs may not be working is that the popular culture bombards kids day in and day out with the message that pre-marital sex is good. It comes through the television, the cd's, concerts, movies, magazines, books, public education, etc., and then we expect one abstinence class to make a difference. It's like sending one guy with a pea shooter against the entire American military. They don't stand a chance. The one chance our kids do have is to immerse themselves in their Christianity, and resist getting sucked into the popular culture. These days we must fight with all our heart to maintain our Christianity, and our kids need to know that, and be taught how to do it. The days are over when we can merely teach them a few Bible stories and expect that to get them through. We must give them the ammunition to fight the battle, or the landscape will be littered with their spiritually dead corpses, and it will be, at least partially, our fault.
